The non-profit Institute for Communication and Assessment Research, which became an independent institute in 2016 after originating as a project within Heidelberg University Hospital, has proven expertise in the development, implementation and evaluation of competency-based teaching and assessment formats for education, training and professional development in the health professions. As an interdisciplinary research and competence centre, the institute combines scientific research with application-oriented development work, thereby contributing to the sustainable improvement of quality of care and patient safety.
